Olivia Bentil, a teacher of Amoanda Catholic J.H.S. in the Brema Asikuma district of the Central Region believes that it is difficult for women to participate in politics because of inadequate exposure, training and orientation on procedures, regulations and other technical information.
Initially, Olivia was not interested in the governance processes but her husband together with some community members and chiefs greatly motivated her to a change of mind. She contested and won much to her surprise.
According to Olivia, even though she found out about the WiLDAF training and joined in for only a day, she studied the training manual on her own and this information made an invaluable contribution on her person and her campaign.
