The Office of the State Attorney has appealed the High Court Ruling that acquitted Prophet Kofi Yerenkyi, from his 10year jail sentence.

WiLDAF features in TV3's IWD Programme

WiLDAF Ghana marked this year's International Women's Day by partnering with other Stakeholders who work for the advancement of women to share experiences and best practices aimed at enhancing the cause of women.In observation of the Day, a private Television Network, TV3 interviewed various women's rights advocates and persons on the street.The episode touched on the role of women in conflict, education, women's empowerment and leadership, and the theme for the 2012 celebration. Congratulations: Dr. Okonjo-Iweala for World Bank Presidency

WiLDAF Ghana congratulates Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Nigeria's Finance Minister on her unanimous nomination by the African Union (AU) for the Presidency of the World Bank, and commends the AU for this feat. Dr. Okonjo-Iweala's unanimous nomination by the African Union (AU) and its power houses, Nigeria, South Africa and Angola is a clear indication of a paradigm shift in the balance of power as well as confidence reposed in women as agents of change.

Partners in gender advocacy share strategies

WiLDAF Ghana has joined Crossroads International and its Southern Partners in an exchange visit in Swaziland. The partners in gender and human rights activism met in Manzini, Swaziland to exchange best practices for the advancement of women and girls.The five-day work shop aimed to contribute to the reduction of violence against women and girls, through the exchange of personnel, strategies and resources on advocating for legislature and implementing strategies that prevent violence against women.

WiLDAF conducts training on biometric registration & Voter education

WiLDAF Ghana has trained 75 young men and women between 18-25years as peer educators on the biometric voter registration in three districts. The exercise forms part of a series of activities to engage young men and women in the upcoming 2012 general elections.
