President Ellen Johnson we are proud of you for being Africa's 1st democratically elected woman President, and for your work towards ensuring equal representation of women in the political process. Our congratulations also go to you Ms Leymah Gbowe for your determination to organize women, fighting to end the civil war and ensuring peace in Liberia. As exemplary leaders you deserve to be honoured for your efforts in ensuring women's participation in and contribution to decision making and the political processes.
You have both been committed to improving the position of women in society, advocating for their role in peace processes and conflict resolution as well as implementing measures to secure their economic empowerment.
